• Sydney Brown has some words about triathlon herself.
• Bryan Redemske was let down by false reporting.
• Chris Locke had an adventure a couple of weeks back. Yikes.

There's a transition time here that usually takes place weeks earlier — the changing of gears from thinking about cyclocross to thinking about the upcoming road season. Since the curtain has finally fallen on cyclocross, the shift is just now beginning. Spring is not very far away.

• Mark Savery posted his UCI Masters Worlds report. He also got some love from the Omaha World-Herald.
• Steve Tilford wants to talk to you about your team. Also, he has an apology for wearing his helmet the way he did at Worlds.
• Brady Murphy implores you to accept no substitutes.
• Eric O'Brien didn't appreciate that whole Paula Deen thing.
• Elisabeth Reinkordt played her hand in a century last week ... indoors. But not on a trainer or roller. Only in Lincoln will they ride around inside a house all day when it's 45 degrees outside.
• Lou Waugaman is back from his Texas training camp. After hearing reports from other riders, a warm-weather camp in January is appealing to us more and more.

• Mark Savery is in Louisville, Ky., for the UCI Masters World Championships. Here is his report from the US National Championships.
• Steve Tilford is also in Louisville. Here is a note from before his qualifying race on the course conditions.
• Tom Price was at the US Championships in Madison, Wisc., last weekend.
• Lou Waugaman skipped town and is training in the relative warmth of Texas.

It's getting on the end of the season, which means it's time to muse about things like snow and training and plans for next year. Here's what was at the forefront this week:

• Mark Savery sheds a little bit of light on his campaign of destruction, which has been fun to watch.
• Steve Tilford talks scooters and pancakes. Hooray, pancakes!
• Lou Waugaman adopted a rescue dog a few weeks back, which is awesome.
• Eric O'Brien is in a good place — for a number of reasons.
• Adam Keck has a good race report from the Flatwater races a couple of weeks ago. Yes, we missed it when it was originally published. Still a great read, though.

Things got fast in the middle of the week in Omaha again — the midweek cyclocross series thing is taking off. Cyclocross is not only on the brain, it's burrowing deeper every week.

• Mark Savery cracked open the time capsule for a bit of Nebraska cyclocross history.
• Bryan Redemske was happy to crack the cyclocross code, at least for one week.
• Steve Tilford has a Flemish country music video about cyclocross. Let that soak in a minute.
• Chad Bishop may have gone a bit overboard with the showering. Oh, and the workouts.
• KC Rasta Rider crashed at Boss Cross over the weekend and felt a bone break and ligaments tear. 
• Chris Locke did a very long off-road triathlon, which sounds fun until you read that report.
• Jeremy Cook brought everything up to speed with a Frankenracereport.

• Lou Waugaman is in Florida drinking wine and watching the rain. Hey, it's educational!
• Sydney Brown has a training setup that could inspire a seizure — or feats of strength.
• Brady Murphy likes yogurt, but not mixed in with bloody dicator photos.

• Lou Waugaman bought $1,000 worth of wine ... by accident.
• Chad Bishop did a gravel race near Iowa City, which included getting lost and drinking Red Bull.
• Steve Tilford has a bone to pick with a certain USA Cycling rule, as it applies to pulling riders from a race. Dig in.
