Because people have been asking, we got an update on Tuesday on the status of the Papillion Twilight Criterium. Normally held in June as part of the Omaha Cycling Weekend, it has been moved to August 18 this year.
And despite being "taken off the calendar," it's always been on this calendar. And there it shall stay, according to race director Mark Stursma.
"Only the date and supporting races have changed," Stursma said. He added that he was working on promotional materials to hand out at the upcoming Nebraska State Road Race on June 23.
The proposed Midtown Crossing Criterium, scheduled to be held Friday, Aug. 17, will not happen, however. Race organizers are hoping to find a new location, but the Papillion Twilight Criterium may well be a stand-alone event on the 18th.
Thanks, appreciate the update.
