Race Results: River City Shootout

BELLEVUE, Neb. — Under sunny skies, and with a warm breeze blowing through the singletrack, more than 200 racers participated in the River City Shootout Sunday at Swanson Park.

The turnout was a record for the 20-plus-year-old event, and included 25 entries from the Omaha DEVO youth development program. The race capped the action on the first weekend of competition in the Nebraska Lottery Psycowpath Series.

After sitting out Saturday's races, Cam Kirpatrick of Rasmussen Bike Shop in Des Moines took the Men's Cat. 1 victory. Saturday's double winner, Steve Jarrett (Midwest Cycling Community) finished fourth. Garet Steinmetz (Ethos Racing) and Kent McNeill (Midwest Cycling Community) finished second and third, respectively.

Rita Borelli won the women's Cat. 1 race, while Kim Topp (Central Iowa Cycling Club) won the Cat. 2 race. Noah Marcus (Velo Veloce/Greenstreet) won the men's Cat. 2 race for his second victory in as many days.
